This tool was created in response to the Institute of Medicine's "Epilepsy Across the Spectrum" report published in 2012.

Development and Financial support has been provided by multiple Epilepsy Leadership Council (ELC) partner groups. The ELC is a consortium of over 30 epilepsy organizations.

Usability testing was supported by grants from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Alberta Innovates Health Solutions.
